Talking to Newburgh-ers about restaurants is interesting. There are some undauntable souls who want to experience all cuisine. There are some who are completely satisfied dining in their own little corner of Newburgh. I hope to change that because some of the food is just darn great.
Since moving here three years ago, my husband and I set out to eat at every restaurant on Broadway and restaurants within the city limits (there are still a few we have to try). There are some that are good and some just…eh. But almost all of them have one or two items on their menus that are specialties. This blog is also not just about one particular cuisine. I want to feature the many different restaurants within the city limits of our interesting town of Newburgh (yes there are more than you think). There are new restaurants, new owners of restaurants, bakeries, Jamaican/ Caribbean jerk chicken take-out, Italian, pizza joints, juice bars and hopefully more ahead. All one needs to do is be a little adventurous.

Well.Nice to come here. I like foodssss..
Hello-
I would love to order a tray of empanadas for a party. Can you recommend a good place in Newburgh?
Thanks.
Elizabeth, not sure. Call El Gallo Dorado. I think they make them. There are several other places that make them but I haven’t tried them so I really can’t recommend a particular place. Sorry. Might be in the cards for a post.
Congrats on a beautiful website. The photography, descriptions, and recipes are enticing. I liked that you featured smaller inner-city haunts that most will miss. I can’t wait to venture out beyond my comfort zone in Newburgh.
